Year 1
Dear Parents & Carers of Year 1 children,
May we begin by expressing we understand the additional pressure and inconvenience home learning could cause for a significant amount of our families in this already difficult time and please be reassured we will support you in any way that we can.
Tomorrow morning, we will welcome key worker and vulnerable children only who will be completing their learning as usual in class and the rest of Year 1 will need to be accessing remote learning. This remote learning can be accessed using your child/children’s school email address and password previously sent home via Teams and Onenote with the tasks set able to be completed and marked onscreen, please refer to the attached guide for more information on how to use teams and Onenote.
For those children working remotely, the expectation is:
- They complete each daily Phonics, English, Maths task that will be set on Onenote.
- To use Oxford Owl: https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/ to access reading books and complete the Reading log page on Onenote/add a video to the reading log Flipgrid to share the completed reading.
- To access Spelling Shed a minimum of twice a week to practice the set spellings.
- To complete the tasks set weekly on Maths with Parents.
Mrs Larbey and Miss Gill will be available via Teams, Tapestry and Email to support throughout the school day. Please can you ensure that your child can access Teams this afternoon and get in touch if you have any problems.
The remote learning will also be uploaded to the school website and Tapestry- if you are completing the work via either of these please ensure you upload a picture of your completed task to your child’s Tapestry.
If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to get in touch.
In the meantime, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you wholeheartedly for your understanding and ongoing support in helping us to manage this unprecedented situation.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs Larbey and Miss Gill
