Online Safety Tips for Parents

At Rushden Primary Academy we believe that the internet is a great resource and can be a fantastic tool to enhance learning and thinking. However it is vitally important that we teach our children how to use this resource safely.

At home, many children also use computers and mobile devices to play games, to learn and to explore. It is essential for parents/carers to be aware of their child’s online activity and to know how to keep children safe online, as sadly there are a number of potential risks to using the Internet.

Children may access inappropriate or harmful content if their online activity is not monitored. Without an understanding of how to keep safe online children may share personal information and be at risk of grooming and sexual abuse, online bullying, and manipulation by online organisations and radicalisation.
