Admissions to the Rushden Primary Academy.
Rushden Primary Academy provides education for children within the 4 -11 age range in the Rushden area.
Please contact the Office for details on current availability and the likely availability for the forthcoming academic year.
For places, parents should apply at Northamptonshire Local Authority using the following link
Starting School Applications
Applications for starting school for pupils aged 4 and above always need to be made through the Local Authority and not through the Academy. They can only be made in the year before your child is due to start (September after their 4th birthday).
There will be a right of appeal to an Independent Appeals Panel for unsuccessful applicants relating to admissions at age 5 (statutory school age) or above. Appeals should be made within twenty (20) school days of the date of refusal to Northamptonshire Local Authority.
Please be aware that the regulations under Section I of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998 limit the size of an infant class (a class in which the majority of children will reach the age of 5, 6 or 7 during the school year) to 30 pupils per class teacher. Admissions over this limit are only permitted in very limited circumstances.
Protocol for In Year Admissions
We strongly urge parents to consider carefully any decision to move their child other than for reasons of relocation, especially during the academic year. In the first instance it is very important that parents address any issues or concerns with the school their child attends and work with the school in order to try to resolve them. Parents who wish to apply for a place at Rushden Primary Academy to transfer from another school (except if moving from out of the area) should first read the guidance on the NCC website regarding in year transfers. If you wish to proceed with an application, please contact the school to arrange a visit.
