Pupil Premium and Recovery Premium
Pupil Premium Statement
The Government provides additional funding to schools called Pupil Premium. This funding is allocated to support children who may be eligible for free school meals or who meet certain criteria. It allows us to invest in extra resources, enrichment activities, and targeted support to help every child thrive.
Many families are unaware that they qualify for this support. Even if your child currently receives universal free school meals (as all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 do), registering for Pupil Premium could bring extra funding to your child, and the school. This funding makes a real difference in enhancing learning opportunities and experiences for all pupils.
Families who receive certain benefits may be eligible for the Pupil Premium Grant or free school meals. Your child is eligible if you’re in receipt of one of the following benefits:
- Income Support
- Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
- Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- The guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
- Child Tax Credit (but not Working Tax Credit), with an annual income below £16,190
- Working Tax Credit run-on (paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit)
- Universal Credit, with household income below £7,400 per year (after tax and not including benefits)
