Outdoor Fun

During the Summer term, both Terrific Tigers (Mrs Patrick) and Brave Bears (Miss Hawes) have had great fun planting up two of the outdoor wooden planters with plants and compost generously donated by Wyevale Garden Centre at Poddington.

Tigers, who are doing ‘Wriggle and Crawl’ as part of their science topic, are learning about mini beasts and their habitat. No doubt, as the plants grow and get more established there will be plenty of creepie crawlies to discover amongst the flowers and leaves.

Also as part of their ‘British values’ topic, the planting was a good opportunity to show the importance of caring for and looking after things.

Brave Bears were able to use the planting exercise to open a discussion on how plants create their own food, which is one of their science topics this term.

Thank you once again to Wyevale Garden Centre at Poddington for sponsoring the plants and compost, the children thoroughly enjoyed planting them.
