Our Science Lead is Sophie Wibberley

We follow the Developing Experts program at Rushden Primary Academy.

A highlight of our year is Science Week. Each year group has a different focus and we all come together at the end of the week to share our fantastic learning at the Science Fair. Completing home learning projects is a big part of our Science Week celebrations too! 

There are also opportunities for children to participate in after-school Science clubs run by Super Scientists. 

Intent

C: We develop a culture of curiosity within our teaching of science. An understanding of the environment is promoted and how this impacts our world.

H: We encourage an awareness of personal health and well-being, as well as considering how science discoveries have impacted our lives.

A: We aim to raise aspirations by exposing children to inspiring experiences and potential career paths within the field of science.

I: We promote identity and self-awareness by allowing children to predict and participate in scientific investigations and experiments.

R: We build strong relationships through highlighting the links between science and everyday life. Teamwork, co-operation skills and respect towards others is celebrated.
